Eugene J. Cherny, M.D., F.A.C.S., is the director of Heartland Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He studied medicine at Rush Medical College in his hometown of Chicago. Dr. Cherny has been practicing in Des Moines since 1989 and is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. See more of Dr. Cherny's credentials here.
Brenda Rowe, RN, BSN, CPSN

Brenda Rowe is Dr. Cherny's private nurse and has worked with Dr. Cherny since 1989. Brenda graduated from Grand View University and became a nurse in 1984. She started working with Dr. Cherny at Des Moines General Hospital and has been his private nurse since the opening of Heartland Plastic Surgery.
Brenda is a caretaker through and through. She enjoys spending time with her family and being involved in Church functions.
Leigan Cleveland, RN, BSN
-Cosmetic Injection Specialist
Leigan is passionate about helping clients feel as good as they look. After earning her Bachelors of Health Science from the University of Northern Iowa and Bachelors of Nursing from Allen College, she began her career as a surgical nurse before finding her calling in aesthetics. Legian specializes in Botox injections and Hyaluronic Acid fillers. Her favorite area to treat is the lips!
She believes beauty should feel natural, refreshing, and empowering. Every patient deserves a comfortable experience, leaving not just with beautiful results, but with renewed self-confidence.
Beyond her work in aesthetics, Leigan loves spending time with her family, traveling, finding new coffee shops, puzzles, and enjoying the outdoors.

Chelsea Coffman

Chelsea attended Iowa School of Beauty in 2015 and joined Heartland Plastic Surgery in January of 2017. Her goal is to provide a visual difference and appearance to maintaining beautiful skin. Chelsea is knowledgeably trained in Venus Laser, Skin Peels, HydraFacial, CoolSculpting & CoolTone as well as skincare lines such as Revision, Alastin and Obagi.
She has two beautiful boys and loves to spend time with her family, friends, and fur babies. Chelsea enjoys the outdoors, camping, decorating, and socializing.

Jennifer Jensen

Jennifer Jensen started at Heartland Plastic Surgery in May of 2017 bringing over eight years of experience in esthetics. She received her certification in Esthiology from the Aveda Institute Des Moines in 2012. She specializes in medical grade facials and peels to enhance and restore a natural, more youthful look. She offers her patients a combination of extensive product knowledge and unique treatment techniques, which she combines with superior attention to detail to deliver unparalleled results. During her time at Heartland she as achieved certifications on the Venus Versa Laser, CoolSculpting and CoolTone. Jen also has extensive training with the HydraFacial along with several pharmaceutical grade products lines available at Heartland.
When Jen isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her husband, Shane, and her seven children and one grandchild. In her free time she also enjoys decorating, gardening and baking.
